Jane’s –Taqtile has seen significant growth in military interest in its Manifest mixed reality (MR) software, and is planning to adopt machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) into the offering in the coming years, the company told Jane’s .
MR involves a mixture of real and virtual entities, essentially combining augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) software with real-life hardware, said Kelly Malone, Taqtile’s chief revenue officer. “AR overlays virtual objects in a real-world environment, while MR overlays and anchors the virtual objects to the real-world environment.”
Taqtile works with the US Air Force, US Navy, and US Marine Corps in the area, along with the New Zealand Army and various defence contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers, said Malone.
